Making a storyline for my Colour Story

To begin my development with this project I decided to plan out different ways to take this project. I knew I wanted the copper to turn into green to add to the story of the colour and to make it interesting. At first I wanted to create a flip book, however, I knew it would take up of a lot of time and high quality paper. The two ideas I decided I wanted to continue developing is the copper coin and the statues.

Here's a quick storyboard of the statue idea. I wanted to keep them in the same position throughout the story so that the focus was always on them. I wanted the audience to move around each statue- depending on which was the most popular at that point in the story. Here's the storyboard so far;

1. the statues are both loved.

2. the copper statue starts to get green speckles. People aren't interested in the copper statue anymore.

3. the marble statue starts getting excited everyone is taking an interest in him. Starts to get too cocky and plays with his hat.

4. The marble statue hat flings off. Breaks.

5. People start walking away.

6.People notice the copper statue has completely turned green. They're amazed.

7. The green statue takes over the popularity.

8. Green statue feels sorry for the marble statue. Hands over his hat.

9. The audience loves both again.

Here's a more detailed version of the marble statue. Although it uses a lot of line in the work. I think the narrative will work well if I mainly use block colours, no tone and simple outlines.
I used a similar style for the statue. This is for continuity and for the pictures to look eye-catching. I wanted this statue to look more friendly than the other one. This is because I want the audience to understand from the start who is the protagonist.

Here's a mock up of the copper coin. I wanted the queen to look recognisable on the coin while still adding my style to her likeness. I think it's effective and striking. Similar to the statues, I think the simplicity of the illustration makes the colour show more.

 Here's the process of the copper coin turning green. Overall I think this is a good idea, however, I think the statue idea is a better narrative to go with.

Here's a quick mock-up of the marble statue. I used a scalpel to cut it out. Although it standouts out, I think if I was to cut out the paper, I would have to use a laser cutter.
